Errors and Corrections: Reggaeton

Twenty months ago I said:

It turns out reggaeton is in 3/4 time, and that's why it's hard to make with iDrum (it only makes beats in 4/4.) After a while I figured it out, I made like three songs... I need to work on the lyrics... but they will probably sound like our first song:

Today I learned that I was incorrect.

The kick drum emphasizes a 4/4 beat, while the snare comes on the "and" of the 2nd 16th note and right on the 4th 16th.

Sorry, Daddy Yankee. Sorry, Calle 13. Sorry, Puerto Rico. Sorry, Reggaeton.

I think that the rapper Killer Mike (Dungeon Family fame) may have sampled a Ween track.

This may make him my favorite rapper alive.

Please help me resolve this.

Molotov

I can't believe that I love a band who are in the same genre as Limp Bizkit. Mexico City rockers Molotov kicked me in the face tonight with pure rockidge. They are indie-rap-rock-punk-latin superstars who sings songs about politics, racism, and sandwiches.



The highlight of the night was their Misfits cover, Marciano (Whoa, O, O) first played like this, then the way the Misfits really played it.

Hella good.

I'm still trying to get people together to start a Misfits barbershop quartet cover band.

I need a baritone, and two other people.
